ASSIST Help Page
Click here to learn about using ASSIST.
There are two ways to use ASSIST. Both
ways use the same data but one leads you through the selection process a little
differently from the other.
- You can use ASSIST to find community
college courses that are transferable to a UC or CSU campus and how those
courses might be used to satisfy specific subject matter requirements for
admissions, General Education, or lower division major preparation.
- You can use ASSIST to explore the
majors available at University of California and California State University
campuses.
To go directly to the transfer course
lists and articulation agreements . . .
Start by choosing a California Community
College or a university campus from the selection list. You can choose the
campus you attend, or the campus you plan to attend. Once you’ve chosen an
institution, more choices will become available.
If you’re looking for an articulation agreement between two campuses, you can
now select the second institution from the second selection list. These
agreements show you how courses at one institution (usually the community
college) can be used to satisfy specific lower division requirements at a
university campus. Most of these agreements include specific information for
lower division major requirements.
You can also choose one of the lists of
community college courses that are applicable to transfer. Pointing at a link
will let you see some additional information on the right sidebar. Clicking on a
link will either display that report, or enable the next set of selections for
that report.
If the links are grayed out, you must
choose a community college to enable them. You can choose the community college
as either the first institution or the second institution.
To explore university majors . . .
You can also use ASSIST to explore majors
offered at University of California and California State University campuses
(CSU majors should be available later this fall.) It provides several paths you
can take to learn about specific majors, requirements for majors, major
preparation at community colleges, and transferring courses.
If you know the major that interests you,
or a general area of study that interests you, click on Majors to get started.
On the next page, follow the directions in the left side bar to narrow your
choices and to find detailed information about your major.
If you know which campus you want to
attend, and would like to see all of the majors offered at that campus. Click on
Campuses, and then select the campus you plan to attend. You’ll then be able to
choose from a list of all the majors offered at that campus.
Or maybe you know that you’re going to be
attending a particular community college to start your academic career. Click on
California Community Colleges, and then choose your college on the next page.
If you know that you want to go directly
to the articulation in ASSIST, you can click on Course Articulation, and then
choose a college or university on the next page.
